I have Japanese knives that require a whetstone. After A LOT of shopping around, I found Vie Belles and this item. Getting it was a bit of a fiasco as they didn't have the item yet and production of the first batch was rejected by Vie belles due to quality issues. I finally got my whetstone from the new production batch (I got the production sample as I had been waiting for many months and wanted the whetstone as soon as possible. It arrived, I've used it (with my Nagura stone - to make slurry) and have been happy with the results. I'm giving the product a 5, but the experience was less than a 5 due to lack of communication from Vie Belles about delays and inability to update me when delays got extended. Maybe it's just growing pains, but I'd advise Vie Belles to do better on setting customer expectations on delivery and initiating communication with customers when there are delays.
